Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Pastor Lisa studied ballet from a very young age. Her dance training enabled her to become a professional ballet dancer in New York City, Chicago and Boston. Pastor Lisa met her husband John in Chicago as she pursued a Bachelor of Science and Master Degree of Accounting, with high honors, and a CPA at DePaul University.  After working for the accounting firm, Price Waterhouse, Pastor Lisa went into higher education and became a full-time instructor at DePaul University’s School of Accountancy for 4 years, and then a tenured faculty member at the College of DuPage, where she was a Professor and Chair of the Accounting Department for 20 years. 

Pastor Lisa and John made their home in Oak Brook, and it was here that they started to attend Christ Church of Oak Brook as they raised their two young sons, Michael and Robert.  While serving in various ministries at Christ Church, Lisa received her call to become an Ordained Pastor. With the support of the Pastors at Christ Church, Lisa attended Northern Seminary, and received her Master of Divinity in 2011, and was ordained in 2012. Pastor Lisa has served as the Director of Care and Community at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, Visitation and Care Pastor at Christ Church of Oak Brook, and most recently has served as the Chaplain at King-Bruwaert House. Pastor Lisa is looking forward to serving the congregation at Hinsdale United Methodist Church and sharing the love and grace of Jesus Christ with all people.
