Greene’s Open House on Christmas Eve (After 7:00PM Service)

The magic of Christmas Eve would not be complete unless there were fellowship and food as we reflect on the miracle of Jesus's birth. Everyone is invited to the Greene's Open House after the 7:00pm service in the Narthex and the Fireside Room. Please bring a plate of cookies to share and a light meal will be furnished. Be a Part of the Hearts and Hands Group

THIRD THURSDAYS OF THE MONTH / 1-3PM FIRESIDE ROOM

Do you enjoy working with your hands? If so, you might want to join our Hearts and Hands group which meets on the third Thursday of each month from 1-3pm. in the Fireside Room. There you will find a small group of women dedicated to creating shawls, lap blankets, baby blankets, and heart pillows. They knit and crochet shawls and blankets for those recovering from surgery or for anyone who needs comfort, they knit baby blankets for the newborn babies, they cut and tie fabric for soft heart pillows to be used for protection from the seat belt for breast cancer patients, heart patients and for any other patient who might be helped with the pillows and they enjoy fellowship with each other as they are working on these.

The heart pillows are distributed for those who need them through The Wellness House in Hinsdale who provide support for all cancer patients.

A recipient of the heart pillow from The Wellness House, who had gone through surgery and chemo, recently told an HUMC member, “This pillow was a great help in finding comfort after treatment, and I really appreciated it.”

Hearts & Hands welcomes you to join them in their efforts to bring comfort and a little love to those in need. For more information, please contact Myrna Beck via the Church Office (office@hinsdaleumc.com).

HUMC's Memorial Garden

A PLACE TO REMEMBER, HONOR, & PRAY

Dear Church Members,

On September 5, 2024, Ad Council voted to establish a Memorial Garden on the grounds of the church for the interment of human cremains. The Garden may be used by current church members, and their immediate family, former members, constituents; and other persons if approved by Ad Council.

Our desire is to be sure everyone is aware of the Memorial Garden. For further detailed information, and if interested in reserving a plot now or later on, please contact the church office (630) 325-1280. A member of the Memorial Garden Committee will contact you and answer any questions you may have.

In the near future, bronze memorial plaques will be installed in the North entrance of the church. They will include the name, year of birth, and year of death of those interred. All records and files of the Memorial Garden will be kept in the church office.

We feel the Memorial Garden is a very meaningful burial place for anyone associated with our church and so very pleased it has been established.

In Christ,
The Memorial Garden Committee
