BENEFITTING THE COMMUNITY OF OLIVET UMC

At Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas the HUMC congregation has traditionally collected 24 boxes of food and a five pound ham to be distributed by Olivet UMC to the people of their neighborhood in West Garfield Park on Chicago’s West Side. We have also given a box of food and a ham to the Bridge Communities family that is sponsored by HUMC.

FOOD BOXES
The Easter Food Boxes will be available for pick up in the Narthex beginning Sunday, March 30. Please take and fill a box with the groceries suggested on the label; these include staples like white rice, dried beans, flour, sugar, cooking oil, breakfast cereals, canned soups, canned vegetables, some fresh fruit and veggies that do not require refrigeration, and some Easter treats. Please return the filled boxes to the Narthex no later than Friday, April 11.

HAMS DONATIONS
Missions Committee has arranged to purchase all the hams at a discounted price from Kramer Foods. The cost to donate a 5-pound canned ham is $16.00. Hams donations will be collected through the HUMC website using the donations process which has been in use at HUMC for the past several years. This system is completely safe; none of the information you enter on the forms will leave HUMC except that required to verify your payment information with the card issuer or bank. Anyone needing assistance to make the online donation can contact a member of the Missions Work Area.

DELIVERY TO OLIVET UMC
