This Wednesday, February 17, we enter a new season, Lent, and begin our journey toward the cross. In accordance of public health guidelines, ashes will not be administered in person. However, everyone is encouraged to join in a brief (15 minute) virtual service to reflect on the meaning of the season. Virtual Ash Wednesday Service will premiere at 8:00 a.m. on our website, Vimeo, and other social media platforms. It will be available anytime after for viewing. Together, as a community of faith, let us enter this holy time with renewed resolve for reverence and humility, courage and hope.
LENTEN BIBLE STUDY
Sunday, February 21 through Sunday, March 28
Our Lenten Study will begin on February 21, using the book Entering the Passion of Jesus by Amy-Jill Levine. We started this study a year ago when the pandemic transformed our church and our study. We will begin once again, looking at the history and literature surrounding the last days of Jesus' life. Levine sets the narrative in historical context and analyzes the risks and motives of the story’s characters. Let us walk together as we learn about the heart of the Christian experience—the story of Jesus' Passion.
DUPAGE PADS DONATIONS
In the spirit of the Lenten season, we will be collecting food and other non-perishable items for DuPage PADS. Donations will be collected from February 22 through March 8, with a drop box located at the east entrance to the Sanctuary. Please note: PADS has requested we limit our donations to the items on this list.
