Albert Schweitzer

The Weekly Word:
is an invitation to reflect on how God speaks to us through poetry, literature, and the visual arts. Share your reflections below so that we can join together on this journey of faith throughout the week.

Albert Schweitzer (German theologian, 1875-1965)
“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us.”

For Reflection
During this season of Thanksgiving, when we count our many blessings, pause to reflect on who has “rekindled” the spark of your life? Who has walked with you through difficult times, when the light “goest out”, or who have been there to celebrate your achievements? Offer a simple prayer of gratitude for that person. Take time this week to share your gratitude with them, or to share with others how grateful you are for all the love and joy that they brought into your life.
