prayer requests

“May we pray for you?” Prayer is a vital ministry of our church.

Each week as we move into the prayer part of Sunday morning worship, we solicit Joys and Concerns, the heart of community for prayer. Many of us carry these joys and concerns with us throughout the week, and in our own way, keep each other in prayer.  While there is no one pattern of prayer at HUMC, there are many ways we hold each other’s lives in our hearts.

Always know that with the pastor and with our online prayer ministry, confidentiality is kept unless you ask for the prayers of the community.

To submit a prayer request to the pastor, please call the church office at 630-325-1280.

If you have a prayer request that you would like to have on HUMC’s Prayer Chain, please contact Theresa and Jim Gory, our prayer chain coordinators at jgory123@gmail.com. If you would like to be a member of the Prayer Chain, please let Jim and Theresa know. Prayer Chain requests are accepted and faithfully lifted to God and shared across our email network of members committed to praying seven days per week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Prayer Requests may also be submitted to our ministry partner Upper Room Ministries Living Prayer Center, a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week intercessory prayer ministry staffed by Christian volunteers.  When you call, a person will answer the phone, receive your prayer request, and pray with you. After your call, your prayer concern will be forwarded to one of 300 Upper Room Covenant Prayer Groups located all over the world. When you submit a prayer request using their website, your request will be emailed to the Prayer Center within 24 hours and sent out to Upper Room Covenant Prayer Groups as well.
