congregational care

At Hinsdale United Methodist Church, we have a ministry of caring for one another. We care for our congregation and their families with support during times of illness and loss and with congratulations during times of joy and celebration. Congregational care plays a vital role in our community life as the Body of Christ.

We have several different ministries that make up Congregational Care. We have an online confidential prayer ministry team praying for those who are sick and in need. We have a strong Stephen Ministry program, shawl ministry and new parents receive a baby blanket and special gifts from the church. Our pastor and lay members are very involved in ministries of visitation and support to homebound members and friends, to the sick, and to our community.

Please contact the church office at 630-325-1280 about joys and concerns such as a birth, a death, someone in the hospital, or other personal needs. We want to know so we can respond as soon as possible.

becoming a member

We understand membership is a process of discovery. Some people come to HUMC as seasoned Methodists and others are newcomers seeking a new faith community they can call home.

Join us in worship. We hope you will feel welcomed in a real sense of open hearts, open doors, and open minds. If you like what you’ve experienced, contact Pastor Young-Mee Park, and let her know you are considering exploring membership. Everyone (members and non-members alike) is welcome to participate in the life of HUMC.

Persons would join the church during one of the worship services by:

  • Vows and Profession of faith
  • Transfer from another United Methodist Church
  • Transfer from another body of the Christian Church
  • Associate transfer if they are in town just part of the time and keep membership in another church
