belford hernandez

An accomplished composer and arranger for vocalists, choral groups, and instrumentalists, Belford has performed in many piano recitals as a featured artist and Chamber Music player in Venezuela, Colombia, Jamaica, Ecuador, Canada and United States.  In addition, he has served as piano collaborator for professional choir and instrumental ensembles.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Adventist University of Colombia and Master’s in Choral Music Education from VanderCook School of Music in Chicago. He also was an associate professor at Adventist University of Colombia and Director of Choral activities at Luis Amigo University in Medellin, Colombia.

In addition to serving as Director of Music at Hinsdale UMC, Belford is the Choir director and professor at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL, and is the Director of the Cantores Community Choir.  

Previously, Belford served as Music Director at Montini Catholic Preparatory College High School in Lombard, IL; served as the Choral Director of the 90-voice High School Chapel Choir at First United Methodist Church in Downers Grove, IL; was Piano Collaborator and Choir Director at Downers Grove South High School; was Piano Collaborator for Anima Singers of Greater Chicago (formerly Glenn Ellyn Children Chorus); was Chapel Choir Director at First United Methodist Church in Downers Grove, IL; and accompanied the world-renowned Glen Ellyn Children Choir of Illinois.
