belford hernandez

An accomplished composer and arranger for vocalists, choral groups and instrumentalists, Belford has performed in several piano recitals as a featured artist and Chamber Music player in Venezuela, Colombia, Jamaica, Ecuador, Canada and United States as well as Director and Piano Collaborator for professional Choirs and Vocal Ensembles.

He received his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Adventist University of Colombia and Master’s in Choral Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago.  He also was an associate professor at Adventist University of Colombia and Director of Choral activities at “Luis Amigo” University in Medellin, Colombia.

In addition to serving as Director of Music at HUMC, Belford is a Choral Teacher and Piano Collaborator for the music program at Montini High School, and is the Director of the “Cantores” Community Choir.  Previously, Belford served as the Choral Director of the 90-voice High School Chapel Choir at First UMC in Downers Grove, IL, was the Musical Director at Montini High School in Lombard, IL, and accompanied the world-renowned Glen Ellyn Children Choir of Illinois.
