Membership in the Hinsdale United Women in Faith (HUWF) is open to all women interested in fellowship and Christ’s call to mission. HUWF enjoys an active unit of over seventy women who meet regularly through small groups called circles. Circle members develop close relationships with each other, praying for and nurturing each other.  Women may also be general members. These women collectively support UWF by making a pledge and helping with overall activities.


HUWF supports mission efforts locally and worldwide through personal pledges and special events like the Fall Trunk Treasures, and Gift Card Sales. 


Fellowship activities like the UWF Sunday All-Church Potluck Lunch, Lenten Brunch, and Graduation Reception help members to fulfill the stated purpose of membership, which is to be a community of women whose purpose is threefold:

  1. To know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ;
  2. To develop a creative, supportive fellowship;
  3. To expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Truck Treasures Sale

SAT SEPT 10 9AM-2PM / SHOP OR SELL / REGISTER AS A VENDOR

‘Trunk Treasures’ is a large community garage sale with vendors selling treasures in the HUMC parking lot. Vendors park in one space and sell their wares such as toys, clothes, collectibles, crafts, furniture, housewares, antiques, flea market finds and more! It’s a junker’s heaven! An additional space next to you may be purchased. The profits from Trunk Treasures Sale helps to support the ministry and mission of Hinsdale UMC's United Women in Faith.

This event is also perfect for antique shop owners wanting to unload some of their items, or shop for items to go back into their shops. This is a rain or shine event. If you have any questions, please call Karen Tate, UMF President at 630-294-0953.


VENDOR APPLICATION & GUIDELINES

circles

Circles meet the second Thursday of the month September through May.  All women are encouraged to join one of our three circle groups:


Mary Circle – Named for Mary, the mother of Jesus. Meets at 9:00 a.m. at the church for light refreshments and business meeting followed by a program. Childcare is available upon request.


Lydia Circle – Named for a Christian business woman. Meets at 7:00 p.m. in members’ homes for a business meeting and program followed by dessert.

UWF Gift card sales

Three times a year the Hinsdale United Women in Faith hold a gift card sale. Gift cards, redeemable at many local stores and restaurants, may be used by the purchaser or given as gifts. For every gift card sold, a percentage is earned by the United Women in Faith to raise monies for missions.


Forms are available in the Welcome Center or at the church office, or download an order form here. Simply complete the order form and submit with payment (memo: HUWF) to the church office. For more information, contact Nancy Sale or call the church office at 630-325-1280.
