Sunday Mornings

Welcome to Sunday School!

We invite you to come and experience all that our ministry to children has to offer. We offer fun and exciting ways for children to grow in their relationship to God, one another, and the world. We are committed to providing a caring and secure environment for our children and youth during all activities. Our program follows the requirements set forth in Safe Sanctuaries policy. Children in preschool to 5th grade are invited to participate in Children Ministry program during the 8:30 a.m. service or immediately after the children’s sermon at the 10:30 a.m. service.

On Sunday mornings (from September to May) at 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. your children of all ages are welcome to join us for Sunday School while you are in adult Sunday School classes, meetings, or if you just need time to relax and have a cup of coffee with a friend. At this time we will have fun, meaningful activities to help the children explore the nature of God.

Our Sunday School theme for the year is: At Home with God. On Sunday mornings this Fall, we will look at: Jesus’ Family, We are Family, and Different Kinds of Family. Come Winter, kids will hear and see how families celebrate the birth of Jesus, build loving relationships, and explore family wisdom that helps us grow in faith.

Please register your child for Sunday School by completing the Children Ministry Registration Form and returning it to Jennifer Austgen, Director of Children’s Ministries, at or in the church office.

Communion Sundays (the first Sunday of every month)

Children will be led back into the worship service by their teachers to take part in communion and return to their parents for the remainder of the service.

Preschool through 1st Grade

children_easter_donkeyThe preschool through 1st grade class use Deep Blue curriculum. This curriculum uses stories, projects, crafts, games and discussion to help build the students’ knowledge of their faith.

2nd through 5th Grade

Our 2nd to 5th grade students also enjoy Deep Blue curriculum. This curriculum involves six different stations per unit including art, cooking, science, music, story, and games. Each week the children will experience a different station. Every unit focuses on one story from the Bible which the students will study for six weeks. This curriculum allows the children to develop a deeper understanding of the stories from the Bible. Each station builds on the previous week’s lesson and delves a little deeper into the story for that unit. This is a fun hands-on learning experience for the children that is sure to strengthen their faith.
