The purpose of HUMC’s Preschool Program is to support the growth of the young child within a Christian family. The program is designed to develop the social, intellectual, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of each child through experiences that build strong and positive self-esteem. Licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services, our curriculum reflects the principles and research presented by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The program is open to all children ages one through five. Scholarship assistance is available.
Our Preschool classes offer age-appropriate pre-academics in a play and exploration format, allowing children the freedom to discover the joy and wonder of the world around them while developing necessary skills.
Parents’ Day Out is designed to equally benefit parents and their children by providing a social time for children ages 1-5 years in a safe, stimulating, and loving environment. Children meet in peer groups with activities chosen to support growth in a variety of skills and social relationships.
Church members provide oversight and support by serving on the Board of Directors, and the church provides the required physical facilities, both indoor and outdoor, designed and maintained to protect the health and safety of the children and staff.
